WHAT IS HATE CRIME?
If you are a victim of a crime or suffer an incident involving you or your property and you believe that this is because of your age, colour, sex, race, national origin, religion, sexuality, disability, political beliefs or refugee or asylum seeker status this is called a hate crime. 

 

Hate crime can take place anywhere, at home, in the streets, in the workplace or in schools and colleges. Incidents can include threats, physical assault, harassment, bullying, robbery and damage to property. WHAT IS DOMESTIC VIOLENCE?
This refers to any violence or threat of violence that takes place in or outside the home between family members, partners or ex partners. You can suffer serious injury and even die. Children and other vulnerable family members can be at risk too.

 

Both men and women can be victims of domestic violence; it also happens in same sex and transsexual relationships.
